Republicans want Americans experiencing pain at the pump to join the party.
The RNC launched voter registration efforts across the country this month including at locations in five battleground Garden State counties: Burlington, Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, and Union. Each of those counties comprises at least part of a competitive congressional district.
New Jersey gasoline hit an all-time high on March 10th and remains well above $4.00 per gallon. The average gallon of gas rose by over one dollar per gallon under Joe Biden before the war in Ukraine began last month.
After years of losing numbers, N.J. Republicans have posted small but directionally notable gains in registration versus Democrats since President Trump left office.
“New Jersey cannot afford more of Joe Biden’s costly war on American energy,” explained RNC Spokesperson Rachel Lee. “As Garden State families and workers suffer from the Biden Gas Hike, Republicans are registering voters in a mounting red wave ahead of November.”
We're in Morris County registering voters to make sure that come November NJ will lead the way!
It's time to end the #BidenGasHike and get back to business. 🇺🇲🐘
