Why is N.J. still paying for contact tracing?

The Faucists won’t say “endemic” (they prefer “controlled pandemic,” whatever the hell that is), Save Jerseyans, but it’s undeniable that Covid-19 is subsiding as a significant threat to the nation’s health. It’s a valid question the extent to which it ever was a severe threat to the vast majority of the population.

Murphy’s endless and unlawful “health emergency” is over. Mask mandates are dropping away. Public events are returning to in-person status. Capacity restrictions are a painful but distant memory.

So why is New Jersey still paying for contact tracing?

According to the state’s Covid portal, Trenton is still retaining and paying a small army of 1,233 contact tracers charged with hunting down and interrogating Covid-19 positive New Jerseyans:

The total number has dropped by nearly 2/3rd since last month…

New Jersey’s program has proven an expensive waste of taxpayer money from the onset of the pandemic, and we’re talking about tens of millions of dollars on a contract that accomplishing nothing meaningful except to perpetuate and justify economically ruinous closures.

Let’s see how long the remaining 1,200+ remain employed…
