Rampant inflation. Sky-high gas prices. Political disquiet amid a midterm cycle. Fearmongering over a new wave of Covid-19. Continuous anti-police policies and messaging coming out of Trenton and the Left generally.
Could summer 2022 resemble summer 2020? Or worse?
Following Saturday’s near-riot in Long Branch that resulted in multiple arrests and damage to a police vehicle, the New Jersey State PBA warned that a “long summer” could lie ahead.
“This could be a long summer,” the PBA tweeted on Sunday from its official account. “Lawlessness can not be tolerated. Great work by officers showing restraint and restoring order in Long Branch.”
Violent crime is already on the rise across the country; Monmouth County officials recently held a large press conference to call upon Trenton to enact stricter penalties to curtail a rash of automobile thefts.
Meanwhile, the Murphy Administration continued to release criminals – some violent – from state correctional facilities well into 2022 in the name of Covid-19 despite the official public health emergency having long since ended.
