NJ-07: Kean receives N.J. PBA endorsement

Former State Senator Tom Kean Jr. received the endorsement of the New Jersey State PBA on Tuesday morning.

The PBA’s Board of Delegates voted to endorse Kean who is presently seeking the GOP congressional nomination in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.

“I’m honored to have the New Jersey State Police Benevolent Association’s endorsement,” said Kean. “These are the men and women on the frontlines every day keeping our families and our towns safe. We need to ensure that our police are fully-funded and that we in the community support their important mission. I am fully committed to leading on behalf of our police in Congress.”

Public safety promises to remain a top issue on voters’ minds heading beyond primary day on June 7th.

Just last weekend, the PBA warned of a potentially “long summer” after numerous arrests and a police car was vandalized at a Long Branch “pop-up party” that turned riotous.

Kean’s primary rivals include Assemblyman Erik Peterson, first-time candidate John Isemann and ex-Pastor Phil Rizzo. TK2 is considered the frontrunner because – aside from his ample name recognition – he’s landed all of the county lines and has raised over one million dollars, light-years ahead of any primary rival. It’s extremely unlikely that the divided opposition will be able to unite around a single non-Kean candidate with less than two weeks left to go before primary day.
