So much for protecting our treasured federal institutions, Save Jerseyans.
The Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill to protect the families of U.S. Supreme Court justices on Tuesday by an overwhelming margin of 396 to 27. The Senate passed the bill 100-0, something which is increasingly rare in 2022.
The 27 NAY votes all came from Democrats, and seven… believe it or not… hail from New Jersey:
- Mikie Sherill
- Albio Sires
- Josh Gottheimer
- Tom Malinowski
- Bill Pascrell
- Donald Payne
- Bonnie Watson Coleman
Many of those seven have been among the most vocal (and obnoxious) in the aftermath of January 6th.
Both of New Jersey’s Republican congressman voted in support of the seemingly uncontroversial legislation.
Some Leftists explained their opposition to the bill – inspired by a recent threat to Justice Brett Kavanaugh and protests in front of justices’ private homes – by citing a lack of action on gun control.
“I think that it is just preposterous how quickly this body will move to protect itself and how slowly we move to protect children and people in grocery stores,” Alexandria Ocasio Cortez told The Washington Post. “I do not believe in saying that this is a big club and the American people aren’t in it.”
