Chris Smith joined nine other Republicans on Wednesday voting to raise the minimum age to purhcase a semi-automatic rifle from 18 to 21.
Two Democrats joined the majority of Republicans in opposing the age hike.

Only five Republicans (not including Smith) voted in favor of the Democrats’ complete “Protecting Our Kids Act” which included a maganize capacity restriction.
The package is almost guaranteed to die in the U.S. Senate.
Smith secured renomination on Tuesday for a 22nd term in Congress.
