The only thing that wasn’t predictable was the actual, specific excuse.
Wednesday’s hearing was supposed to be the infamous January 6th Committee’s final staged performance, Save Jerseyans, but I’m thinking someone saw the latest ABC/Washington Post generic ballot midterm poll.
The committee designed to keep ‘Donald Trump’ alive as an issue for 2022 midterms is postponing its televised hearing… due to a hurricane which might make landfall over 900 miles south of Washington, D.C.
“In light of Hurricane Ian bearing down on parts of Florida, we have decided to postpone tomorrow’s proceedings,” the committee announced via Twitter. “We’re praying for the safety of all those in the storm’s path.”

Somehow I doubt Liz Cheney is heading south to stack sandbags or hand out Red Cross provisions.
They don’t want to compete with a hurricane for televised coverage, folks. It’s that simple. They’re also happy to influence the news cycle as late into the voting season as they can manage it.
Everything is politics. Everything! Even when our fellow Americans’ lives are on the line.
