Murphy’s attorney general deploying “hundreds of attorneys” ahead of Election Day

The Murphy Administration’s legal dragoons are mobilizing ahead of Election Day, Save Jerseyans.

On Friday, “[t]o safeguard the fundamental right to vote,” the office of Murphy’s newly-minted Attorney General Matt Platkin announced “a Voter Protection Initiative for the 2022 general election” which “will focus on identifying and addressing any voting rights or civil rights violations, including under the New Jersey Civil Rights Act and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, that may arise during early voting and on Election Day.”

Call me crazy, but given this go-broke-for-woke crew’s record, I don’t think this is really about “election integrity.” The goal is making sure voting in blue towns/counties proceeds uninterrupted by legitimate Republican scrutiny.

Moreover, “[t]he Attorney General also announced that, as in prior elections, hundreds of attorneys from the Division of Law will be working in shifts to answer emergent questions from county elections officials to ensure that all eligible voters can cast their ballots quickly, freely, and fairly in accordance with New Jersey’s election laws.”

Again, consider the source.

Platkin was recently confirmed by the N.J. Senate after a sustained stint as acting AG; all but three Republican Senators voted against him citing, among other deeply concerning resume lines, his role in the state’s Covid-19 lockdown policies as Governor Murphy’s chief counsel as well as the Administration’s many scandals concerning the mistreatment of women in its orbit.

“I’m concerned that Matt Platkin was the counsel who advised Governor Murphy to govern by executive order and overbearing mandates for the past two years,” said Kristin Corrado (R-40) back in February. “On emergency powers, we need someone who shares the views of New Jerseyans that it’s time for Governor Murphy to give it back.”

New Jersey is expected to have a number of tight races at the local, county, and federal levels on November 8th, most notably the congressional contest in NJ-07 and control battles in Cumberland and Gloucester counties. With only 5 seats needed for a GOP takeover of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Garden State could play a decisive role in any forthcoming “red wave.”

Here’s hoping Republicans’ lawyers are ready. Of course, it’s not easy to compete with an army of de facto Democrat attorneys working on the taxpayers’ dime!
