State Senator Ed Durr (R-3) shocked the world two years ago when he defeated then-Senate President Steve Sweeney with less than a shoestring budget in South Jersey’s 3rd Legislative District.
He’s back in the fray this year for her first reelect; on Wednesday night, “Ed the Trucker” huddled with local legislators, officials from distant counties, and NJ 101.5 radio host Bill Spadea at Adelphia’s in Deptford (Gloucester County) for his first major event of 2023.
“Thank you to everyone who attended last evening’s event. The support from the top of the state, to the bottom is remarkable! A special thank you to our emcee @BillSpadea as well as speakers @RealHeatherDarl & @Sdimaso #NJ” tweeted Durr.
Democrats have yet to settle on an opponent for Durr this year. The possible field includes Sweeney himself as well as former Assembly Appropriations Committee Chairman John Burzichelli (D-Paulsboro).
