Freshman Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. is a top (early) target for Democrats ahead of the 2024 cycle, but he’s building a warchest which, if he stays on the current trajectory, may make them think twice down the road.
On Friday, Kean announced a $831,000 fundraising haul for the first quarter (January through March) of 2023.
“We have had a huge outpouring of support because people understand that we need to continue the legislative momentum built in just the first three months of the 118th Congress,” said Kean who now represents the 7th Congressional District. “Whether it is lowering energy costs or stopping inflationary spending, I am proud of what we in the House have accomplished so far. I will continue to listen and lead on behalf of New Jersey families in Washington, DC.”
Kean’s fundraising smashes the previous record held by Josh Gottheimer (D, NJ-05) for a freshman New Jersey member of Congress in their first full fundraising quarter.
