N.J. GOP voter registration deficit shrunk by another 3.4k+ in September

New Jersey Republicans continued their post-Trump trend of chipping away at Democrats’ massive statewide registration advantage in September.

Last month, the NJGOP netted a gain of 1,288 new registered voters across all 21 counties. Democrats, by contrast, lost 2,148 voters. That’s a swing of 3,436 in the Republican Party’s direction heading into the final month of a crucial legislative cycle.

There are still 2,505,810 Democrats to only 1,538,539 Republicans in the Garden State, but that 967,271 difference is much smaller than the one million plus gap which existed prior to March 2023.

All 120 legislative seats are on the ballot this November. Republicans hope to shrink the Democrat majorities in both chambers and, if they can catch lightning in a bottle, perhaps even flip either the Assembly or the Senate for the first time in over two decades.
