Bob Menendez was already in hot water, Save Jerseyans, but the AP is reporting that New Jersey’s Democrat senior senator – already under federal indictment for a host of serious alleged crimes – is now facing new charges. They’re arguably the most serious.
According to White House AP reporter Seung Min Kim, Menendez will now need to defend against charges for allegedly “being an unregistered agent of the Egyptian government.”
Federal prosecutors say Menendez conspired with his wife and businessman Wael “Will” Hana to serve as Egyptian government agents from January 2018 to June 2022; likely uncoincidentally, June 2022 was when government agents raided Menendez’s home and found gold bars, stashes of cash and other incriminating evidence…
