The New Hampshire Primary is mere weeks away (January 23rd), Save Jerseyans, and Chris Christie is bogged down.
New Jersey’s ex-governor registered at 9% in the latest Emersons survey, a distant third place behind Donald Trump (49%) and Nikki Haley (18%). Those are the exact same percentages for Trump and Christie, former allies, in the August poll.

Haley, meanwhile, has rise 14-points since the August survey. The divide between the first and second place contestants appears to be at least somewhat socio-economic in character.
“Nikki Haley’s support is driven by older voters, and those with postgraduate degrees,” explained Emerson Polling Executive Director Spencer Kimball. “While Trump leads across all age groups, Haley gets 21% of the vote from voters over 40 while getting about 8% from voters under 40.” Meanwhile, “Trump leads among non-college-educated with 57% to 12% for Haley, but among college-educated GOP voters Trump leads 35% to 27%, and among those with postgraduate degrees Trump leads 29% to 26% over Haley.”
