One day after Wildwood rally, NJ.com urges residents to visit Delaware’s beaches this summer

Coincidence, Save Jerseyans?

I think not.

24 hours after Donald Trump held a historic beach rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, attended by tens of thousands of residents and tourists, NJ.com (a/k/a The Star-Ledger), published a story urging its readers to consider vacationing this summer in… Delaware?

Specifically, Rehoboth Beach.

“Some New Jerseyans have known for years that Rehoboth Beach, on Delaware’s southeastern coast, is a worthy rival to our Shore — even if getting there can mean a nearly two-hour drive from the Delaware Memorial Bridge or an 85-minute ferry ride across Delaware Bay to nearby Lewes,” wrote Rob Jennings for the website. “The beach, unlike most on the Jersey Shore, is free. There are rides, arcades, popular restaurants and the city’s legacy as an LGBTQ-friendly travel destination.”

Lauding a “Jersey-like vibe in Rehoboth,” Jennings also pointed out that “the biggest celebrity sighting isn’t Bruce Springsteen — it’s President Joe Biden, who has a vacation home in the area.”

I’m supposed to view a half-naked sunbathing Joe Biden as some species of incentive to visit Delaware beaches? Really?

But also… seriously? What sort of New Jersey newspaper urges its readers to patronize beaches somewhere other than at the Jersey Shore a mere two weeks before Memorial Day Weekend?

That “LGBTQ-friendly” part may be your clue. New Jersey Leftists (including in ever-shrinking news rooms) don’t like abhor the Jersey Shore’s increasingly conservative politics, so they’re apparently more-than-happy to seize an opportunity to throw the Jersey Shore under the bus. They hate us more than they love their own state. Back in 2022, N.J. Democrat Chairman Leroy Jones dismissed South Jersey as “a Trump worshipping area of the state.” That attitude is clearly reflected in the NJ.com’s free commercial for another state’s beaches as we near the official start of the summer season.

The ratio on X was justifiably harsh:

Spite is a bad look, NJ.com, and no way to hold onto your rapidly shrinking readership.
