If you live in NJ, Philadelphia or its suburbs, you love the Jersey Shore and probably have wonderful childhood memories of the boardwalks and want the same for your kids and grandchildren.
Well, if you were at certain shore towns this weekend, that seemed to be a thing of the past. Seaside, Ocean City (always billed as a family destination), and Wildwood Boardwalks were overrun to the point of Civil Unrest causing Wildwood to temporarily close their Boardwalk on Memorial Day Weekend.
Ocean City had a stabbing.
Who are these reprobates that are trampling on our Summer fun? I took a stroll on Ocean City’s boards this weekend to see for myself. I may as well have been walking through any American city. First of all the language was brutal. Since when do we greet each other with, “Hey, how the F @&$ are you?” Or “FU!” Little kids excited to get on rides don’t need to hear this. It’s crass. The pungent aroma of pot was obnoxious. Why should little kids have to inhale that? No wonder people were acting like fools.
The attire is another thing. Spandex is a privilege, not a right. A size 20 butt doesn’t belong squeezed like a sausage casing into size 6 pants. Friends, they only expand so far. Top it with a T Shirt boasting vulgarities and you’re a billboard for an episode of South Park.
One guy was walking behind me with a sound system around his neck, blasting his musical choice. Not the music of the majority of strollers. He didn’t care. His world, his choice. Screw you. Your kids may as well learn profanity sooner rather than later. In our world today, childhood is over rated, right? May as well add it to the list of crap kids have to navigate.
Governor Murphy’s edict passed down last year tying the hands of law enforcement forbidding them to contact parents regarding the misbehavior of their offspring has had a hand putting towns in difficult positions and residents and vacationers have no choice but to watch their summer peace destroyed.
It wasn’t only teens that caused the ruckus. There were an excessive amount of miscreants passing as adults in the mix. Face it, allowing all this civil unrest on campuses in cities large or small, twisted perversions in elementary and middle schools, isn’t helping us be any safer.
The night of the Ocean City civil unrest, people were locked inside stores for their safety. Is this acceptable behavior in a shore town? In America?
Forget hoping politicians and town officials, parents who “drug up” this rabble as opposed to raising them, taking charge. One more thing the average American needs to step up at the ballot box and correct. The Bidens and Murphys of the world have thumbed their collective noses at us and don’t give a damn about our country and family traditions, let alone your safety.
