A strong showing of anti-offshore wind development activists assembled in Ocean City on Saturday for a Memorial Day Weekend rally. Political leaders were on hand to lend their support.
“When I have the privilege of being your governor, there will be no windmills off our shore,” gubernatorial hopeful Jack Ciattarelli declared during the rally.
“We need to put this to bed,” Senate candidate and Cape May hotelier Curtis Bashaw added in his own remarks.
Orsted cancelled plans to pursue an off coast wind farm back in October, but Atlantic Shores is now taking up the mantle against an equally energized opposition.
“The fight against the industrialization of our Atlantic Coast continues,” said Cape May County GOP Chairman Mike Donohue. “Thank you to Protect Our Coast NJ and Robin Shaffer for organizing and to all who came out this morning to join the protest.”
