*** RESULTS THREAD ***

10:47 AM (Wednesday 6/5): Some potentially rough news for Joe Biden: nearly 1 in 10 Democrats voted “uncommitted” on Tuesday; as of the morning after, the incumbent had amassed about 88% of the total vote share. Biden cannot afford substantial defections among Democrats if he continues to shed young voters, black voters, and independents as recent public polling suggests.

10:00 PM: Democrat Rob Menendez is victorious, Save Jerseyans, holding his CD-8 seat despite concerns that his father’s federal corruption prosecution would derail his own political career.

9:26 PM: It wasn’t a long night in the GOP U.S. Senate contest; Curtis Bashaw appears to have decisively won the Republican nomination…

8:45 PM: In Upper Township, @SaveJersey can project that challengers Zach and Sam Palombo (cousins) have defeated incumbents Jay Newman and Kimberly Hayes in the GOP primary. This was one of a handful of closely-watched municipal races tonight..

8:06 PM: Polls are now CLOSED across New Jersey and the county begins. Emphasis on “begins.” Thanks to the Covid-era VBM rules, you never know whether close races will be decided on Election Night or take days (or weeks) to resolve.

We’re watching contests tonight across the state including the GOP U.S. Senate primary, the Democrat House primaries in NJ-03 and NJ-08, and a few hotly contested local battles.

5:45 PM (Tuesday) 6/4: Polls in New Jersey close at 8:00 p.m. Check back here for updates!
