New Jersey tops nation with over 4 in 10 adult “children” living with their parents

Does a month pass without New Jersey notching another negative #1 ranking?

Hardly, and our high cost of living is the most common culprit.

The latest ugly milestone comes from a new study produced by truckinfo.net. The Garden State boasts more “adult children” (ages 25 to 34) living at home with their parents (instead of independently in their own domiciles) than any other state in the Union. The total percentage is a whopping 43.3%, significantly higher than second place finisher California (38.6%).

Conversely, only 11.9% of North Dakotans and 19.8% of South Dakotans live at home. Blue states are more likely than red states to see a large percentage of adult kids still in their parents’ basement.
