Sue Altman just isn’t catching fire in NJ-07, Save Jerseyans.
The Democrat nominee is too far Left for a right-of-center district. The DCCC and related national organizations (notably the House Majority PAC) have thus far favored investment in New York races over helping Altman make her quest to unseat freshman Tom Kean, Jr. competitive. Consequently, she’s trying to course correct by distancing herself – Kamala-style – from recent positions.
“I’m not in favor of defund the police. I think it was a really silly hashtag from the middle of the pandemic that caught fire online,” Altman recently told the press. “I believe in a comprehensive vision for public safety that includes all stakeholders.”
Unfortunately for Sue, the Internet is forever.
We have the tweet wherein she happily hailed the release of a cop killer. She also celebrate as “awesome” her organization’s efforts to “shift resources from police.” She even used the “silly hashtag” herself in a subsequently deleted tweeted:
“She can delete her tweets, but she can’t rewrite history. Sue Altman wants to defund the police,” said Congressional Leadership Fnd (CLF) Regional Press Secretary Maureen O’Toole.
