And you thought lawfare was bad, Save Jerseyans…
Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R, NJ-02) put Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell through her paces on Tuesday during a House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee hearing after disturbing reports that FEMA employees were told to “avoid homes advertising Trump” during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
The report suggested that FEMA workers consciously avoided at least 20 homes with visible Trump 2024 campaign signage on the property.
“In the most vulnerable moments of their lives, when these people are terrified and desperate for aid, the federal government turned its back on them because of their political beliefs,” said Van Drew. “There is no place for bias in disaster relief—ever. FEMA has neglected its core mission of providing emergency support to all Americans and that is why I have sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Joseph Cuffari calling for an immediate investigation. We need to uncover the full extent of this abuse and hold those who put politics ahead of safety accountable.”
Van Drew also send a letter – click here – to Inspector General Cuffari.
