Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R, NJ-02) set off a firestorm last week by sharing his belief that the drones littering New Jersey’s skies had originated from an Iranian drone mothership.
Frustration and a distinct lack of guidance from federal officials continued to reign on Tuesday; prior to a classified hearing on the topic on Capitol Hill, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Michael McCaul (R, TX-10) suggested a different adversary is to blame for the unexplained Garden State sightings which have sent the state into a low level but rapidly growing panic with days left to go before Christmas.
“I believe they’re spy drones,” said McCaul. “The PRC, communist China, excels at this. We know they’ve purchased land near military bases.”
