Shhhh, Save Jerseyans…
Don’t tell Mikie Sherrill that she’s running against Jack Ciattarelli, Congressman Tom Kean Jr. (R, NJ-07).
She might’ve missed it hiding in her basement?
The Democrat nominee hasn’t said much of anything about the state’s FY 2026 despite the fact that she’s running for state office and, should she prevail in November, need to craft the FY 2027 budget. She is ranting and raving about the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ and spent a good portion of her Wednesday debating Kean on X concerning the fate of the SALT deduction (set to rise to $40,000 from $10,000 for the next five years).
Then Sherrill deleted her post/tweet? For some reason:

Sherrill’s alleged reason was a “typo” in her original post…
Hi Tom, deleted for a typo. Happy to repost and call you out again.@AndyKimNJ is absolutely right. Support for the Republican price hike bill is a betrayal of New Jersey taxpayers, as it reinstates the SALT cap just as it was set to expire.
But you and @Jack4NJ are too scared… https://t.co/PGGPMKdmDJ

I don’t see the typo. Do you?
Weird.
Not as strange, again, as Sherrill’s refusal to talk about the budget when she’s asking New Jerseyans to make us the next cover. It gets less weird, however, when you consider that available polling persistantly shows New Jersey’s right track vs. wrong track number decidedly underwater. One survey found only 33% believing the state is ont he right track and 54% believing it’s not. Sherrill’s people know this and clearly want to protect the Democrat nominee from needing to defend, explain, or certainly “own” her party’s record of gross corruption and mismanagement.
