Sure, you always run your air conditioning more in the summer months. But why are this season’s electric bills so historical ghastly?
Our friend Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia (R-24) said it all over on X, Save Jerseyans.
“Trenton Democrats ignored nuclear energy options and demonized clean, affordable natural gas and also diesel while importing energy from other states that burn these exact fuels to keep our grid running,” explained Fantasia. “Now we pay more, and outsource our emissions instead of being honest with the public.”
Said another way: the Murphy Administration just spent nearly a full decade blowing billions on “green” technologies – mainly offshore wind – which were obvious bad ideas from the start. As a result, we don’t produce enough of our own energy which necessarily is pushing electric bill rates higher (and higher) especially during the warm weather months.
Correlation isn’t always causation. In this case, there’s no denying it. Observe:
Electricity rates rise as in-state supply falls. It’s no coincidence. Bottom line – we need MORE IN-STATE BASELOAD GENERATION to bring prices under control. pic.twitter.com/MDs550BVif

Murphy is leaving office in January 2026.
Democrat gubernatorial nominee Mikie Sherrill, aka “East Coast Kamala,” is pledging to carry forward Phil Murphy’s energy lie. The “lie,” in case you’re still not getting it, is that we can power New Jersey’s future on rainbows, unicorn farts, solar panels and a whole ton of junk science supported by virtue signaling. We can’t, of course, and the proof is evident on your latest eletric bill.
