AWKWARD: Covid villain Whitmer will stump with Sherrill in Paramus, scene of Murphy’s nursing home atrocity

The Sherrill advance team didn’t do their homework on this one, Save Jerseyans…

This week, the struggling Sherrill campaign will receive a campaign surrogate visit from Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer, one of the nation’s most notorious Covid governors who oversaw thousands of avoidable nursing home deaths which were catalyzed in large part by her lockdown policies.

Whitmer and Phil Murphy followed roughly the same fatal playbook, and one of the worst spots on the map during those dark days was the Trenton-run veterans home located in Paramus where dozens of staff and residents died needlessly among hundreds cumulatively who were housing in these facilities.

Don’t take my word for it. The *Biden* Administration’s DOJ ultimately settled with the Murphy Administration over “constitutionally deficient” care at the state-run veterans home facilities including the one located in Paramus. The feds’ report was blistering.

“One worker described the situation [during the height of the pandemic] in Paramus as ‘pure hell,’” the DOJ’s 43-page report explained. “Another described Menlo Park as ‘a battlefield.’”

The state has paid out $70 million to the families of victims. So you and I paid.

Why, on earth, did the Sherrill campaign think bringing Whitmer to the scene of Phil Murphy’s crime made any sense at all? Were they thinking?

I don’t think a clearer contrast exists in Election 2025!

“Mikie Sherrill’s tone-deaf decision to bring Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan – best known for her deplorable treatment of veterans and seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic – to Paramus is a grim reminder of the deadly lockdown policies that were championed by Phil Murphy, Mikie Sherrill, Lisa Swain, and Chris Tully that lead to the horrific loss of life at the state-run Paramus Veterans Home,” opined Rob Kaiser, an LD38 GOP Assembly candidate alongside Barry Wilkes and a current Paramus councilman when reached for comment by Save Jersey. “In light of the tragedy that hit Paramus so acutely, the Sherrill campaign’s decision to bring one of the country’s infamous ‘angels of death’ here is insensitive and wrong. Swain and Tully should not attend out of deference to those who perished under their watch.”
