Rooney vs. Bramnick debate set for July 7th at Rider University

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – SaveJersey.com’s Matt Rooney and State Senator Jon Bramnick (LD21) will debate the future of the New Jersey Republican Party this July at the campus of Rider University.

The forum, moderated by Rider Professor Micah Rasmussen, is scheduled for 3:00 pm EST on July 7th. Ticket information and other streaming details are still forthcoming.

Both men have been outspoken in advocating different paths for the NJGOP to regain relevancy, with Rooney calling for a grittier, more aggressive resistance to the Trenton status quo and Bramnick urging a return to pre-Trump party.

Jon Bramnick is a two-decade veteran of the New Jersey Legislature, including serving as Assembly Republican Leader and later as a State Senator representing the 21st Legislative District. Bramnick unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for governor in 2025. Outside politics, he is a practicing attorney and amateur comedian.

Matt Rooney is a New Jersey attorney, political commentator, radio host, and founder of Save Jersey, one of the state’s most widely read political websites. Through his writing, podcasting, and media appearances, Rooney has become a prominent voice in New Jersey politics, focusing on government accountability, tax policy, public safety, and electoral issues.
