The cavalry arrives: Trump-linked PAC drops $3.3M into NJ-07 to boost Kean

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The cavalry is coming for Tom Kean Jr., Save Jerseyans.

Safety and Affordability PAC is dropping roughly $3.3 million into New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District to help Republican Rep. Tom Kean Jr. as the battle for control of the U.S. House enters the home stretch.

The newly formed super PAC is reportedly tied to President Donald Trump’s political orbit and is deploying tens of millions of dollars across competitive House districts nationwide.

NJ-07 is getting a sizable piece of the action.

Kean is defending the North and Central Jersey battleground against Democrat Rebecca Bennett, and the district is once again attracting serious attention — and serious money — from national players.

The $3.3 million investment is another indication that Republicans aren’t taking Kean’s seat for granted. Kean first flipped the district in 2022 by defeating Democrat Tom Malinowski and subsequently won reelection in 2024.

Now national Republicans are preparing to spend heavily to keep it red.

Safety and Affordability PAC’s intervention also comes as both parties increasingly concentrate resources on a relatively small universe of competitive House districts that could determine control of Congress.

For New Jersey voters, the immediate consequence is much simpler:

If you live in NJ-07, Save Jerseyans, prepare to see a lot more Tom Kean Jr. on your television over the next seven weeks.
