10-year old ccompetitiveshooter Shyanne Roberts, a Gloucester County native, has gone mega-viral – perhaps that’s an understatement of sorts – since Save Jersey first posted her Trenton committee testimony back in the spring.
Now she’s quite literally everywhere, Save Jerseyans; this Friday, she was profiled by CNN in a stunningly-balanced look at children and firearms, and Shyanne made the case (without even trying to be political, I suspect, given her age) that gun violence is predominately a cultural problem, one which gun control laws as we currently conceive of them are ill-equipped to address.
“I want to be an inspiration to other kids and be a leader,” Shyanne told CNN. “Kids and guns don’t always mean bad things happen.”
She rocks! And she’s one of our own, so you can support her and keep up with Shyanne’s travels, competitions and pro-2A musings here on her official Facebook fan page.
Hopefully she won’t be given an Uzi and shoot anyone’s head off.
Hopefully she won’t be judged by bigots for her chosen sporting interest.
