Senate Budget Chair Paul Sarlo (D) and GOP budget committee member (and gas tax hike supporter) Steven Oroho have reportedly reached a transportation trust fund fix compromise, Save Jerseyans.
The reported 10-year, $20 billion deal will include a 23-cent per gallon gas tax hike and a gradual end of New Jersey’s estate tax.
No word yet as to whether the respective party leaderships or Governor Chris Christie will back this specific deal. The proposed gas tax hike would be New Jersey’s first gas tax increase since 1988…
