Salem’s Freeholder Director Will Run Again in 2017

Bob Vanderslice

Bob Vanderslice (R-Pennsville) is running this year, Save Jerseyans.

“I want to announce to everyone that I will be seeking reelection for Salem County Freeholder this fall,” Vanderslice told Facebook followers on Monday night.

This year’s contest is a little different; the 6-1 Republican freeholder board in New Jersey’s least-populous county is shrinking from 7 to 5 seats following a voter referendum. An appellate court ruled last week that the reduction must be accomplished by attrition meaning only one freeholder will be elected in 2017.

Vanderslice currently serves as the board’s director.
