As a mother, latina, Cuban, catholic and leader in Hamilton Township, I believe that our elected officials should be figures our children can look up to. Bob Menendez will never be that type of figure. For this reason, I will not vote for Bob Menendez in the November 6 general elections.

Can New Jersey justify a vote for Menendez? The answer is NO!

This election is about so much more than Democrats or Republicans. It’s about right and wrong, and who is the best person to represent New Jersey for the next six years in the United States Senate.

I was born in Cuba in 1967. My family and I immigrated legally to US in 1970. We made the stop that many Cubans made when they first arrived in the US; the Freedom Tower in Miami where we received our documents, immunizations and clothing since we arrived with nothing. From there we settled in Union City.

Today, I am the first Hispanic woman elected in Mercer County and the first Hispanic woman elected in Hamilton Township. And as a mother, latina and Cuban, I am very proud of what I’ve accomplished. But I must reiiterte, I will never vote for Bob Menéndez.

You have all seen the TV ad that provides the facts about shocking FBI and U.S. Department of Justice documents detailing specific corroborated evidence of credible allegations that Senator Bob Menendez had sex with underage girls in the Dominican Republic and makes it clear what’s at stake in this election.

Fact is, Bob Menendez is a hypocrite. A couple of weeks ago in a speech on the floor of the Senate, Bob Menendez called for all women to be believed. Yet, Menendez claims that no one should believe the underage women who accused him. The public has a right to know all the facts about the FBI investigation into Senator Menendez and decide for themselves.

My parents were hard working individuals who were so appreciative of all the opportunities that this country offered. We were raised to be contributors to this country and to not rely on this country to take care of us. We were taught to be responsible for our actions,

For the sake of having a clearn conscience like the decent and honest people in New Jersey, I cannot in good faith vote for Bob Menendez. I’ll be casting my vote for Bob Hugin for United States Senate and encourage everyone to do so too. We need a Senator we can all be proud of.
