NJ-03: Bob Healey’s warchest is 10-times larger than Ian Smith’s

Ian Smith’s popularity with grassroots conservatives faces a hat trick threat in June:

On top of an ongoing DWI legal challenge, the Atilis Gym co-owner’s prime primary opponents (Bob Healey) has all of the county lines and, we learned on Good Friday, a 10-to-1 cash on hand advantage.

Healey brought in $519,707 for the first quarter of 2022 compared to Smith’s $99,161.

The ex-punk rocker (Healey) now boasts $755,930 cash on hand compared to Smith’s $68,000+ in the tank.

Smith will need to rely on a guerilla-style campaign to turn the tide, but luckily for him his campaign consultant his Steve Kush, the quarterback for Senator Ed Durr’s 2021 upset victory. Whether Kush can replicate his model in NJ-03 now stands as one of primary season 2022’s most interesting storylines to watch.
