Last winter, Canada’s imperious Justin Trudeau raised eyebrows when his government froze the assets of truckers protesting his draconian Covid-19 policies. The freeze didn’t last long but the damage was done.
New Jersey’s Josh Gottheimer was clearly taking notes. He’s doing a bad Trudeau impression – with a much shittier hairline.
On Monday, the Democrat Congressman announced the introduction of the FASTER Act (Freezing Assets of Suspected Terrorists and Enemy Recruits Act) during a House Committee on Homeland Security hearing. Gottheimer’s office says he’s hoping to “help law enforcement freeze the assets of ISIS-inspired, lone-wolf terrorists or other domestic extremists that are arrested on U.S. soil.”
“Over the last years, we’ve witnessed an alarming spike in activity from domestic extremist groups threatening our communities with violence and hate — in person, online, and deep in our communities,” said Gottheimer (NJ-05). “Unfortunately, the extreme actions and radical ideas of domestic extremist groups like the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys go beyond January 6th. These domestic terrorists have seeped into our communities — putting our families in danger, pitting our neighbors against one another, further dividing our country. We must combat violent extremism, global and domestic terrorism, antisemitic threats, and all forms of hate wherever it exists and ensure our communities and law enforcement have the resources they need to stay safe and secure.”
Gottheimer’s release focused on the trial of an Oath Keeper leader and his associates for alleged crimes in connection with the events of January 6th. He made no mention of Antifa terrorists who terrorized the Pacific Northwest.
Most Americans aren’t sympathetic towards jihadists or violent rioters.
The rub, as ever, is who’s defining “domestic terrorist” and how they do it.

In Canada, non-violent protesters engaged in civil disobedience were targeted by their own government. Who do you think will qualify as a “terrorist” if the Biden-Gottheimer Democrats are allowed to persist on their current course? You don’t need much in the way of an imagination to see where this all ends, folks.
