Trump wins 2-1 victory in Bramnick’s Union County

Donald Trump is now 2 for 2 in the fight for New Jersey GOP county lines.

On Thursday evening, Union County Republicans gathered and selected Donald Trump as its endorsed candidate for the upcoming June primary. Trump earned 152 votes to Nikki Haley’s 67, a landslide 69% to 31% victory.

Trump defeated Nikki Haley, 152 to 67 (69%-31%), after a similarly lopsided win last night in Hunterdon County.

Union County is dominated by woke and affluent New York suburbs; it’s shifted to a blue county in recent cycles, and it’s home to vocal Never Trumpers including State Senator and gubernatorial candidate Jon Bramnick and NJGOP National Committeeman Bill Palatucci. Trump’s overwhelming victory there is further evidence of the ex-president’s tight hold on the party’s base as the presumptive nominee marches towards a historic nominating convention this summer.
