Another poll, another indicator of a gubernatorial close race as the summer season enters its final month.
The StimSight survey (commissioned by InsiderNJ) shows Democrat nominee Mikie Sherrill ahead of Republican hopefuly Jack Ciattarelli by 6-points, 48% to 42%.

These results come with a significant asterix: notably, the StimSight pollster is Patrick Murray, former head pollster of the disgraced and disbanded Monmouth University Polling Institute. Murray routinely produced polling which over-estimated Democrat support. InsiderNJ is also a Democrat news site which is owned by Sherrill fundraiser and Democratic National Committeeman John F.X. Graham.
So yeah… if anything, based on Murray’s track record of producing polls that skew blue, we can assume that Jack was probably doing BETTER than 6-points at the time the poll was conducted between July 18th and July 24th amojgn 1,108 “probable” voters. The margin of error is +/- 3.3-points.
The consensus is a single-digit contest. Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway’s most recent survey showed a 5-point race; last week, FDU released their own results with Ciattarelli trailing by 8-points.
