ACA Screws 1.8k More NJ Families

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

DoctorI told you that the math behind last month’s Obamacare enrollment “success” story doesn’t add up, Save Jerseyans.

Here’s more hard proof via, where it’s being reported that 1,800 more Garden State families received cancellation notices last week:

The Affordable Care Act — the federal law that mandates everyone have insurance — effectively killed FamilyCare Advantage, a low-cost option for kids in New Jersey created six years ago for parents who earned too much to qualify for Medicaid and other subsidized programs but too little to buy on a policy on their own. The state program was the first of its kind in the nation.

Failure in Four Numbers

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

Barack ObamaDid you enroll? Or get rolled?

An Obamacare deadline synopsis in four numbers:

684 million dollars spent on marketing Obamacare to people who don’t want it (or to pay for it)

7.1 million sign ups as of April 1st for Obamacare, but without any indication how many actually paid and how many were previously uninsured

6 million lost health care coverage because of Obamacare

30 million  folks who Democrats told us didn’t have insurance in order to justify Obamacare

Dem Hopefuls Unenrolling from Obamacare

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

runningWith the Obamacare enrollment deadline only hours away, Save Jerseyans, it’s painfully clear to anyone watching that the grand experiment of socialized medicine is failing – in epic fashion – more quickly than even was anticipated by even the most ardent critics of the (Un)affordable Care Act.

Continued technological glitches are the least of it.

Empty Suit, Empty Tweet

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

Con: Hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans have lost their preferred health coverage thanks to Barack Obama’s Democrat Party.

Pro: Lou Greenwald has Twitter covered better than the extra-greasy unleaded hair gel (or whatever the hell that stuff is) caked all over on his sizable mellon…

Christie Throws Down with Obamacare Booster

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

How successfully Chris Christie can reconcile his decision to accept a massive Medicare expansion with his consistent and vocal opposition to Obamacare (including not one but two state exchange vetoes) could make or break his 2016 GOP primary dreams, Save Jerseyans.

We saw it play out today at a heated South River town hall where the Governor warned agitators and attention-seekers, in vain, to behave:

Lance’s Obamacare Fix Passes House

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

Congressman Leonard Lance (R-NJ07) is celebrated passage of H.R. 3685 on Tuesday night, Save Jerseyans, also known as the “Protecting Volunteer Firefighters and Emergency Responders Act,” a measure designed to unshackle first responders from punishing Obamacare mandates:

It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser every time, Save Jerseyans.

From today’s Toms River town hall:

Obamacare Will Kill 71k+ Jersey Jobs

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

Unemployment LineOr should we say 71k+ jobs “liberated”?

That’s what Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) estimates based upon last week’s Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis, Save Jerseyans, which concluded that the United States could see 2.5 million fewer jobs by 2024 than it otherwise would’ve without Obamacare.

71,661 to be exact.

Click here to see ATR’s state-by-state breakdown. In case you were wondering, ATR arrived at its numbers by looking at Bureau of Labor Statistics tallies for each states’ respective shares of the total national job market. It’s looking to be a rough decade for New Jersey employees (and employers) considering our state’s cumulative pension woes, tax burdens, constitutionally-mandates minimum wage increases and, of course, a failed experiment in nationalizing 1/5 of the country’s economy.

Sorry. It’s a buzzkill. I know. But hey, don’t get too down. Your ‘liberation’ is at hand…

ObamaCare in Under 5 Minutes

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

We’ve spent countless hours and barrels of digital ink deconstructing the (Un)affordable Care Act, a/k/a “Obamacare” over the past few years, Save Jerseyans, especially in the wake of its disastrous roll out.

We know you’re busy. This video (posted below) summarizes hundreds of posts’ worth of content in under five minutes… h/t

Smith Rallies Pro-Life Marchers

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

chris smith pro life marchU.S. Rep. Chris Smith (NJ-04) rallied thousands of intrepid Pro-Life Americans on Wednesday, Save Jerseyans, bundled in large groups at the annual ‘March for Life’ which this year coincides with the 41st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court  decision.

Here’s the full text of his remarks:

Thank you for joining this extraordinary March—a magnificent celebration of God’s gift of life and a recommitment to defending and protecting women and children from the violence of abortion.

Trenton Rally for Life on 1/22

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

unborn babyIt’s not always the “hot” topic here at Save Jersey, folks, but it’s one we’ve spent considerable time discussing that’s never far from our minds and always ranked highly in our hearts.

You’ll have an opportunity this week to rededicate yourself to the cause of ending abortion in our lifetime. That battle is all the more critical now that Obamacare is compelling taxpayers to fund elective abortions.

The Annual Rally for Life sponsored by New Jersey Right to Life is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22nd in Trenton from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will meet on the State House Steps (125 West State Street for those of you using GPS).

Lance Fights Obamacare Fire Disaster

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

FirefightersCongressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) is cosponsoring H.R. 3685, the “Protecting Volunteer Firefighters and Emergency Responders Act,” Save Jerseyans, along with several other House members including Frank Lobiondo (NJ-02) and Jon Runyan (NJ-03).

What’s that? I’m glad you asked! The bill is designed as a “permanent fix” which would exempt our volunteer first responders from the evil side-effects of Obamacare’s individual mandate.

Lance is even coming home next week to drum up support for this much-needed legislative relief…

Make N.J. An “Obamacare Sanctuary State”

Bills I’d Like to See Introduced in 2014, Part 1

By Ed Sheppard | The Save Jersey Blog

The New Jersey State HouseSave Jerseyans, this is the time of year where everyone comes up with lists.

The top whatever of 2013, resolutions/wish lists for 2014, you know the drill. And I’m no exception. I’ve got my own list of bills I’d like to see someone with enough guts to introduce in Trenton. And by someone, I mean a Republican, because I doubt any Democrat would consider any of these bills. So I will be posting one bill a day this week. And today’s wish is…

Make New Jersey an “Obamacare Sanctuary State”

When liberals do not like federal laws, they simply ignore them. They then go a step further and pass state local laws that not only defy those laws, but actively protect those who break them. Agree or disagree on the issue, just look at their tactics on illegal immigration, and tell me I’m wrong. I’m not. So we common sense conservatives need to do the same thing.

And we should start with Obamacare.

The Possibility of Bias?

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

Michelle Obama at ChristmasIt’s a slow news day, Save Jerseyans, so the big political news on Thursday (nationally) was a CNN/ORC poll showing the GOP in good shape heading into next year’s midterm cycle.

No surprise there.

It’s also less-than-surprising that CNN is trying to downplay the primary catalyst of the Republican Party’s second lease on life:

Pallone: Gay Stereotypes OK for Good Cause!

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

Frank “Monkey Court” Pallone is having a contest with himself, Save Jerseyans, to see whether he can successfully utter increasingly dumb sh*t during each succeeding cable television appearance.

The latest unbelievable outburst from the representative of NJ06?

Telling this CNBC anchor that “whatever it takes” to sell Obamacare to consumers is A-OKAY with him… including peddling gay stereotypes with taxpayer dollars..

We already knew they’d do whatever it takes to save this mess of a law including tell us we could keep our plans when, in fact, we couldn’t.

Then again, Frank might “prejudge the type of ads” that he’s spending our money to broadcast if he wasn’t also one of the legislation’s architects; if it fails, then there isn’t much else to be said for his time in Congress.
