It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser every time, Save Jerseyans.
From today’s Toms River town hall:
Or should we say 71k+ jobs “liberated”?
That’s what Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) estimates based upon last week’s Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis, Save Jerseyans, which concluded that the United States could see 2.5 million fewer jobs by 2024 than it otherwise would’ve without Obamacare.
71,661 to be exact.
Click here to see ATR’s state-by-state breakdown. In case you were wondering, ATR arrived at its numbers by looking at Bureau of Labor Statistics tallies for each states’ respective shares of the total national job market. It’s looking to be a rough decade for New Jersey employees (and employers) considering our state’s cumulative pension woes, tax burdens, constitutionally-mandates minimum wage increases and, of course, a failed experiment in nationalizing 1/5 of the country’s economy.
Sorry. It’s a buzzkill. I know. But hey, don’t get too down. Your ‘liberation’ is at hand…
We’ve spent countless hours and barrels of digital ink deconstructing the (Un)affordable Care Act, a/k/a “Obamacare” over the past few years, Save Jerseyans, especially in the wake of its disastrous roll out.
We know you’re busy. This video (posted below) summarizes hundreds of posts’ worth of content in under five minutes… h/t Townhall.com:
U.S. Rep. Chris Smith (NJ-04) rallied thousands of intrepid Pro-Life Americans on Wednesday, Save Jerseyans, bundled in large groups at the annual ‘March for Life’ which this year coincides with the 41st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.
Here’s the full text of his remarks:
Thank you for joining this extraordinary March—a magnificent celebration of God’s gift of life and a recommitment to defending and protecting women and children from the violence of abortion.
It’s not always the “hot” topic here at Save Jersey, folks, but it’s one we’ve spent considerable time discussing that’s never far from our minds and always ranked highly in our hearts.
You’ll have an opportunity this week to rededicate yourself to the cause of ending abortion in our lifetime. That battle is all the more critical now that Obamacare is compelling taxpayers to fund elective abortions.
The Annual Rally for Life sponsored by New Jersey Right to Life is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22nd in Trenton from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will meet on the State House Steps (125 West State Street for those of you using GPS).
Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) is cosponsoring H.R. 3685, the “Protecting Volunteer Firefighters and Emergency Responders Act,” Save Jerseyans, along with several other House members including Frank Lobiondo (NJ-02) and Jon Runyan (NJ-03).
What’s that? I’m glad you asked! The bill is designed as a “permanent fix” which would exempt our volunteer first responders from the evil side-effects of Obamacare’s individual mandate.
Lance is even coming home next week to drum up support for this much-needed legislative relief…
The top whatever of 2013, resolutions/wish lists for 2014, you know the drill. And I’m no exception. I’ve got my own list of bills I’d like to see someone with enough guts to introduce in Trenton. And by someone, I mean a Republican, because I doubt any Democrat would consider any of these bills. So I will be posting one bill a day this week. And today’s wish is…
Make New Jersey an “Obamacare Sanctuary State”
When liberals do not like federal laws, they simply ignore them. They then go a step further and pass state local laws that not only defy those laws, but actively protect those who break them. Agree or disagree on the issue, just look at their tactics on illegal immigration, and tell me I’m wrong. I’m not. So we common sense conservatives need to do the same thing.
And we should start with Obamacare.
It’s a slow news day, Save Jerseyans, so the big political news on Thursday (nationally) was a CNN/ORC poll showing the GOP in good shape heading into next year’s midterm cycle.
No surprise there.
It’s also less-than-surprising that CNN is trying to downplay the primary catalyst of the Republican Party’s second lease on life:
Frank “Monkey Court” Pallone is having a contest with himself, Save Jerseyans, to see whether he can successfully utter increasingly dumb sh*t during each succeeding cable television appearance.
The latest unbelievable outburst from the representative of NJ06?
Telling this CNBC anchor that “whatever it takes” to sell Obamacare to consumers is A-OKAY with him… including peddling gay stereotypes with taxpayer dollars..
We already knew they’d do whatever it takes to save this mess of a law including tell us we could keep our plans when, in fact, we couldn’t.
Then again, Frank might “prejudge the type of ads” that he’s spending our money to broadcast if he wasn’t also one of the legislation’s architects; if it fails, then there isn’t much else to be said for his time in Congress.
Chris Christie is ahead of the Democrats’ front runner in Iowa according to a new Quinnipiac University poll, Save Jerseyans, fueled by overwhelming support from men and a decisive edge among independent voters:
In an early look at the 2016 presidential race, New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie leads former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton 45 – 40 percent.
There is a large gender gap as women back Clinton 49 – 39 percent while men back Christie 51 – 30 percent. Independent voters back the Republican 44 – 35 percent.
I recently decided to keep a Save Jersey journal about my personal experiences with Universal Healthcare aka Obamacare. My primary objectives: (1) helping those who have yet to experience changes in their coverage know what is coming and (2) remind those folks who are experiencing changes they are not alone.
It’d also be a nice bonus to remind everyone else what they may’ve voted for in November…
Ironically, two days after a segment aired on NJN profiling my own cancelled health insurance plan, the Healthcare.gov marketplace called me to “fix” my application problems! Apparently they had not verified my identity and, incredibly they had my name down twice. Once as myself, and then again as my fictitious dependent child.
Frank “Monkey Court” Pallone is the gift that keeps on giving for bloggers this Christmas season, Save Jerseyans.
The latest: he’s worried about folks not having renewed unemployment benefits as of December 28th, but he couldn’t give less of a damn about hundreds of thousands of New Jersey residents losing their health benefits three days later on January 1st…
…after he and the President told them it wouldn’t happen. NJTV’s Mike Schneider certainly did a better job of keeping his composure than I would have under the circumstances:
It keeps going from bad to worse.
AmeriHealth of New Jersey announced on Tuesday that it won’t renew 2013 health plans that are Obamacare non-compliant, Save Jerseyans, meaning the grand total of New Jerseyans slated to lose their individual or small-group health insurance plans in 2014 has climbed to approximately 680,000.
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield reached the same conclusion earlier this month.
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield already announced last week they will not be renewing insurance plans that cover approximately 500,000 people in New Jersey due to Universal Health Care. You undoubtedly heard about it. You may even be one of them.
To add insult to injury, Save Jerseyans, they also warned 840,000 customers by letter that two laptops were stolen from their Newark headquarters; consequently, the security of thousands of identities may be in jeopardy.
According to Horizon’s letter to consumers, the laptops contained “your name, Social Security number, and demographic information (e.g., address, date of birth, Horizon BCBSNJ identification number).”
