Remember when Stephen Sweeney lambasted Chris Christie for failing to re-nominate his buddy Justice Wallace? He specifically accused Christie of threatening the independence of the NJ Judiciary.
Well guess what? Today, the State Senate voted 21-2 (with all Republicans abstaining and refusing to vote), to pass SR105, a resolution that calls upon Justice Rivera-Soto to resign because of his refusal to participate in Supreme Court Cases while the temporary appointed justice remains.
So let’s get this straight Stephen, because maybe I’m missing something. Gov. Christie using his constitutional authority not to reappoint a justice is bad, but passing a resolution on behalf of the Senate alleging that a SITTING justice has committed a misdemeanor worthy of impeachment is just peachy?
The rank hypocrisy of the NJ Democrats is astounding – and they truly have no limits. Their resolution is not only false, but is more of an attack upon the Judiciary than anything Chris Christie has ever done.
