It’s been a strange week, Save Jerseyans, and it ended on a bizarre note as Medford Mayor Chris Myers vehemently denied the claims of a shadowy website that he paid for gay sex during a 2010 visit to California.
The website in question, www.mayormyers.webs.com, is currently offline as the screenshot (left) clearly indicates. Exactly why it’s down is somewhat less obvious. Did the mysterious alleged escort “Rentboy” have a change of heart? Did the hosting company pull the plug itself? Or did Myers’s lawyers find a way to intervene?
Earlier in the day, Myers told The Burlington County Times that his lawyer didn’t believe there would be an easy avenue to force the site offline. This is the only part of Myers’s denial that I found completely prima facie not credible, Save Jerseyans. After all, the man is a vice president for Lockheed-Martin! He undoubtedly knows at least 100 people around the globe who can take down a website with the mere push of a button or, if the technology isn’t available, by wrapping a few shoelaces together with gunpowder and a stick of bubble gum. Kind of like Angus MacGyver.
We’ll keep you in the loop as the story develops or fizzles.
In other news, LD6 Senate candidate Phil Mitch’s twitter page is (unfortunately) still operational. How long do you think it will be before he’s giving Rentboy love advice?
