Save Rutgers: Anti-Merger Signs Adorn Lawns in South Jersey

Yard signs are things we’re used to seeing crop up in October.

Not this year in South Jersey!

Your Blogger-in-Chief had to run a few errands around Camden County on this beautiful Saturday afternoon, Save Jerseyans, and I couldn’t help but notice 100+ “Keep Rutgers in South Jersey!” signs on residential lawns.

The proposed Rutgers Camden / Rowan Merger seems to lose support with every passing day. The latest poll showed just 19% of New Jersey residents in favor of it; that numbers drops even lower in the Camden/Gloucester / Southwestern Jersey region. In fact, judging by what I observed today, I’m willing to wager that the number of folks with “Keep Rutgers in South Jersey!” signs on display outnumber those individuals who actually want the merger to happen!

  1. I've got mine out. It's encouraged neighbors to ask about the issue. The more they know, the less they like the idea. I've even been asked to get lawn signs for them now!
