Isaac may’ve played havoc with Day One scheduling, Save Jerseyans, but the 2012 Republican National Convention is still coming together this morning. Slowly but surely.
New Jersey’s most famous delegate isn’t spending a rainy day in bed. At 8:00 a.m., Governor Chris Christie will address the California delegation at St. Pete Beach where he’s staying before visiting the North Carolina delegation a little later in the morning in beautiful St Petersburg. He also has plenty of folks to meet with one-on-one before settling in for another crack at keynote prep.
Don’t forget: our own Susanne LaFrankie will begin live coverage starting tomorrow with Christie’s keynote and continuing through Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech on Thursday evening.
Back at the Sirata Beach Resort, New Jersey’s delegation is going to convene for an AM briefing before commencing a long day of social drinking and weather-watching as the tropical storm passes by Florida’s Gulf Coast. Unofficial events are still on the calendar including a New Gingrich-hosted workshop; as far as official Monday business, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus will turn on a giant convention hall “debt clock” at 2:00 p.m. before promptly beginning a storm-related recess lasting from 2:00 p.m. Monday until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Stay tuned…
Wish I was there! I can't wait for Christie's keynote tomorrow night.
