Christie Heads to Vegas for RGA Meeting

Republican Governors Meeting at the Aspen Institute

Governor Christie Christie is headed to Las Vegas, Nevada for the annual Republican Governors Association (RGA) meeting; he plans to return to New Jersey Thursday evening.

Christie is a leader in the RGA; in fact, GOP gubernatorial gains stood alone on an Election 2012 evening when Republicans lost ground in Congress an failed to capture the presidency.

The hot topic at this year’s conference? A request by GOP governors for more time to decide what to do about Obamacare. Right now, all U.S. states (including New Jersey) must decide whether to set up their own exchanges by this Friday, November 14th.

Expect many of the party’s executive luminaries to be in attendance save one 2016 prospect: Nikki Haley (R-SC) is staying home to deal with a giant security breach at South Carolina’s tax collection agency.

  1. Did you know that no NCAA tournament games will be played in NJ due to Christie's plan to have sports betting in the state. What is the economic impact of doing this? He really screwed Rutgers camden recruiting when he pushed for and lost his merger plan.
