Post-Sandy, Weehawken Joins Marlboro By Sending Police Into Schools. But Will Trenton Thwart Their Efforts?

I strongly support welcoming armed security guards/police officers/armed staff into our schools.
The public polling data strongly suggests that you do, too, Save Jerseyans, at least concerning the first two points.
More local public officials agree with us every day. Not enough. But it’s a start.
According to the AP, going forward, “[a] police officer is present in Weehawken’s high school for the start of classes, during lunch and at dismissal.” Marlboro Township made a similar decision back in December not long after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings.
Kudos to Weehawken for joining Marlboro in putting common sense ahead of knee-jerk, politically correct, anti-gun sensationalism. Unfortunately, I suspect Trenton may move on a number of gun control bills beginning Wednesday that will stymie Weehawken and Marlboro’s efforts to protect their own children.
