Election Day 2013 is still over 7 months away, Save Jerseyans, but Barbara “Buckle Up” Buono’s odds aren’t getting any more manageable. Not yet.
A new Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll of 702 registered voters out this morning found Governor Chris Christie leading his opponent by another big margin, 58% to 22%; this massive 36-point margin notably includes approximately one third of participating Democrats. 66% of registered voters continue to approve of Christie’s job performance including 55% of Democrats and 61% of Independents.
Christie has consistently led by outsized double-digit margins since Buono entered the race. She also continue to hemorrhage support; today, as we reported yesterday, the Democrat mayor of the largest town in her home legislative district will formally switch parties, endorse Chris Christie and launch a campaign for her State Senate seat. Ouch.
