The latest embarrassment to befall the fast-sinking NYC mayoral campaign of Anthony Weiner, Save Jerseyans, happens to involve a woman with New Jersey roots.
Roots in our state’s education system, to be exact. Figures.
Embattled Weiner spokesperson Barbara Morgan reportedly worked as New Jersey Department of Education Commissioner Chris Cerf’s press secretary and director for the Office of Public Information until mid-May 2013 (h/t NJSpotlight).
In case you missed it, Morgan violated rule #1 for campaign staffers on Tuesday when she became the story for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade during an interview with Talking Points Memo. She was apparently outraged by a tell-all article written by a former Weiner intern (who also formerly contributed blog posts for our friend Art Gallagher of MoreMonmouthMusings) that was subsequently picked up by the NY Daily News and BOOM… another media feeding frenzy. Morgan has since apologized, stating that she thought her comments were off the record.
I suppose Anthony Weiner thought the same thing about his sexting?
