Polling Average: Christie +24

Christie in Long BranchIt’s that time of the year, Save Jerseyans. We’re going to start averaging the major public polls in order to get a more balanced idea of where the gubernatorial race stands.

We’ve had six public polls in the 2013 NJ gubernatorial race since August 1st from six different polling organizations:

Stockton University – Christie +28

Rutgers-Eagleton – Christie +20

Rasmussen Reports – Christie +26

Fairleigh Dickinson – Christie +24

Monmouth University – Christie +20

Quinnipiac University – Christie +28

Take together, these polls put Chris Christie ahead of Barbara Buono by approximately +24.33. Interestingly, Buono fails to break 40% in any of the six polls; the closest she came was in last Monmouth survey where she scored 36% support. She felt short of 35% backing in 4 of the these 6 polls. Three of the polls were conducted and reported completely before Governor Christie’s campaign launched a 7-figure statewide television campaign.
