Some Workers More Equal Than Others?

The wailing and gnashing of teeth continues over approximately 800,000 furloughs from active federal service, Save Jerseyans.

Despite the fact that a large percentage of the federal government remains operational… 1.350 million employees are still working, to be exact.

And notwithstanding the historical precedence that these workers will be compensated for their lost time when the partial shutdown inevitably ends.

Sigh…

Here’s a little reflection for you on Day #2 of the government shutdown: as is often the case, liberals are asking the wrong questions as Americans collectively wonder what’s wrong with their government.

Let’s turn to the state of the private sector for a moment. It still sucks. BAD (h/t Obamaphone lady)Labor force participation is at record low levels. A recent Gallup survey discovered that more than 17% of American workers are underemployed; another analysis determined that 44% of young people were underemployed as of 2012. 71% of U.S. jobs created through September 2013 were part-time positions.

Millions of Americans are losing their health care, shifts, or jobs altogether under the crushing weight of taxes and regulations designed to facilitate more public sector employment.

A country of 320 million souls working to support 800,000 “non-essential” government employees (including 93% of the EPA workforce, btw). I don’t want to see anyone suffering without a paycheck, but if we’re being honest, why do Democrats and their media allies believe the livelihoods of 0.25% of the population matter more than everyone else’s well-being?

What is this? Animal Farm?

Our fiscal woes aren’t a mystery to anyone with a brain and a honest bone in their body, Save Jerseyans.
