Fair Lawn Tops ‘Best Cities’ List

The Movoto real estate research blog has ranked New Jersey’s largest communities, Save Jerseyans, and they’ve come up with a Top 10 list of “best cities” in the Garden State. The state’s populous towns were ranked on the basis of (1) Amenities, (2) Cost of  Living, (3) Crime, (4) Education, (5) Median Income and (6) Home Value.

My one beef with the list? South Jersey isn’t represented (save for Toms River which some folks consider “Central,” a never-ending debate for another time). Places like Cherry Hill aren’t technically cities but they’re large enough to qualify and certainly provide an excellent standard of living relative to the property tax burden.
