We figured it’d be fun to check out Senate President Steve Sweeney’s “Twitter Thursday” this past week, Save Jerseyans, to see if he’d answer one of our questions.
#2A supporters hadn’t had much luck but what did we have to lose?
Only 140 characters.
Surprisingly enough, the Democrat front runner for 2017 (or his staffer) deigned a response…
He’s got a funny way of showing it!
Christie Supreme Court nominees David Bauman and Robert Hanna have been waiting 372 days for a hearing to be scheduled. In fact, going all the way back to the 1948 constitutional convention, Democrat majorities dominated the Supreme Court for 50 years while registered Republicans were in charge for only 13 years.
You could’ve guessd that by just looking at your property taxes! It’s an egregious situation that’s led to one legislator calling for an end to senatorial courtesy filibusters on Supreme Court nominees and commentators broaching the idea of recess appointments.
And where is this “ideological” litmus test in the state constitution anyway? We tried to politely follow up:

We’ll let you know if we ever get a response, Save Jerseyans…
