Rich Pezzullo and Murray Sabrin ended the first ballot in a runoff, Save Jerseyans; Pezzullo won the second 153 to 101 for Sabrin. Exciting stuff!

Meanwhile, the incumbent Monmouth County Freeholders Lillian G. Burry and Gary J. Rich Sr. won renomination.

Rep. Chris Smith got the CD4 nod by acclamation; Anthony Wilkinson won an uncontested CD6 vote.

  1. Anon is right, I was one of the people watching the tally as a representative for the Pezzullo campaign. It was 153-101 on the second ballot.

  2. Also, MoreMonmouthMusings posted the first ballot results from Monmouth:

    Rich Pezzullo 164
    Murray Sabrin 105
    Brian Goldberg 72
    Robert Tukevage 44

  3. Can someone explain how both “surviving” candidates got fewer votes in the second round than the first? Don’t you ordinarily *pickup* some votes from the dropped out candidates, not lose votes you already had?
