Rep. Frank LoBiondo’s lead over Democratic challenger William Hughes is tighter than expected if the latest Stockton poll is to be believed, Save Jerseyans. The incumbent is up 44% to 38% in the 2nd Congressional District among 604 live interviewed adults while 18% remain uncommitted.
With leaners included, LoBiondo’s lead is roughly the same: 47% to 42%.
“The poll captures a snapshot in time of an important race for South Jersey,” opined Sharon Schulman, Chief Executive Officer of External Affairs and Institutional Research.
The real test, of course, is if the DCCC adds NJ-02 to its radar watch list. As of yet, only NJ-03 has passed that test though Nancy Pelosi has mentioned Hughes’s race as one she’s personally watching. I’m sure he hopes she sends a check but without further comment.
The Stockton poll’s margin of error is 4-points. Click here to view the report.
