capitol buildingAmericans have never had a particularly high opinion of Congress. “It could probably be shown by facts and figures,” Mark Twain once quipped, “that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.”

That doesn’t mean there aren’t good people out there doing good work, Save Jerseyans. Or at least trying.

Which of our state’s Republican federal legislators do YOU think is doing the most to disprove the generality of Twain’s less-than-flattering observation?

  1. Garrett by a long shot. He takes his Constitutional oath more serious than the rest of them. His voting record is rated better on Conservative issues as well. He listens to his constituents when calling his office about votes, and not his party bosses, and votes accordingly. The same can definitely NOT be said of MacArthur. He answers to his party establishment , not the voters, as proved by his first 2 votes as soon as he got there, and continues today. Garrett fights for Conservative values and doesn’t throw in the towel to the Democrats, of which the others love to say they are just “working across the aisle” when they do not have to!

  2. I have no faith in any of them. If any of them was worth their salt – they’d be raising hell about the draconian gun laws in this state . But not a peep. What does tell you? Any legislator unwilling to stand for citizens constitutional rights is unfit for office. The politicians who push for greater gun restriction should be summarily impeached and removed from office for violating the oath of that office.
